ADD the AAD TO YOUR GENEALOGY SEARCH

The AAD (Access to Archival Databases) is an online searchable database tool presented by NARA (National Archives.) At this time, it is a small subset of searchable material provided by the Archives, but it is definitely worth a look.

The AAD is a handy group of records that provides additional search options for data including, immigration, government records, historic buildings, and more. For example, valuable information in the SS-5 Application Files, documenting the period 1936-2007, includes names of parents, place of birth, and date of birth. The National Archives will be adding new databases regularly, so be sure to check back periodically.

REMEMBER: The BULK of searchable records, located at the National Archives and Records Administration, can be found on their website.
